The Start

The moment I started this blog, I regretted it. I tried for a few minutes to figure out how to delete it. I gave up and went and weighed myself. Twice. It is several weeks later and now I think I might be ready to do this. I am going to go buy a few items of clothing that actually fit so I am not squeezing my ass into items that are a size or two too small. Feeling like a stuffed sausage does nothing to help me feel good about myself. It just makes my stomach hurt.

What's in a Number?

For the next year, I am going to document my journey of not knowing my weight. I weigh myself every morning, but not until I am naked and have gone to the bathroom, and definitely before I have eaten or had anything to drink, so that no extra ounces will be counted. I stare at the number and think about what I ate and drank the day before. Was I good or was I bad? It affects how I feel about myself. What if I just did not know that number? Would I feel better? Can I be OK without knowing that number? Can I stop obsessing about it? I am healthy. I do not take any medication. According to the charts I am not obese, but I am definitely Bridget Jones-like in size.
